Details Remain Sparse during Trump Immigration Tour

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a press conference with Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto this afternoon, Donald Trump spoke of a secure border as “a sovereign right and mutually beneficial.”

The following is a statement by Jacinta Ma, director of policy and advocacy at the National Immigration Forum Action Fund:

“We all agree that having sound border security policies is important. What does Donald Trump propose beyond a wall that most Americans oppose?

“We need details about every aspect of Trump’s immigration plan. First and foremost, we continue to hear no specifics regarding how to address immigrants in the U.S. without authorization. Many conservatives have an answer: Humane treatment and the opportunity to earn citizenship.

“What are Donald Trump’s specific answers on immigration? We’re listening.”

Jacinta Ma is available for comment before and after Trump’s immigration speech this evening.
